	&lt;p&gt;UK Kurdish Student organisation made their voices heard at STAR Nottingham Conference&lt;/p&gt;
	&lt;p&gt;UKSO have attended STAR 8th national conference (The Student Action for Refugees) in order to raise the issues and challenges facing Kurdish refugee and asylum seekers in Diaspora. The 2days weekend conference began with Key note speeches from Chair of the refugee council Ms Naaz Coker and Rosie Kane MSP (member of Scottish Parliament) followed by number of workshops about life of refugees, government policies, experiences of women refugees, Detention Centres, and role of UK government and British companies in creating refugees where ilisu dam project in Hassen Kef was set as example, the outcome of such project will leave around 78000 people homeless and refugee in North Kurdistan (Turkey). Similar projects such as oil pipe line were a centre point in multi national and environment change and refugees workshop.&lt;/p&gt;
	&lt;p&gt;In another workshop the plight of Kurdish women and the challenges they face in UK was discussed in relation with cultural and religious barriers. In discussion about human trafficking the situation of women and children along with under age miners from Kurdistan to Europe and its impact on them was raised by members of UK kurdish student organisation .&lt;/p&gt;
	&lt;p&gt;Also present at the conference were group of Kurdish painters and artists from Nottingham portraying images of their homeland Kurdistan. The conference continued with a night of Kurdish dancing along with African and Iranian music.&lt;/p&gt;
	&lt;p&gt;The Student Action for Refugees STAR was founded by a student in 1995 which now consisted of student volunteers groups all over UK and campaign for the right and fair treatment of refugees and asylum seekers.&lt;/p&gt;
